This week was a busy week for the Spartans with Homecoming Week going on and multiple activities having games. Boys and Girls Cross Country ran in the Illinois Prairie Conference meet which was held at Olympia. In this race, the Boy’s team placed second overall. They finished off the week on Saturday with the Metamora Runnin Red Invitational. The Boy’s team got eleventh overall and the Girl’s team got sixth.
The Girls Volleyball team ended up with a couple of losses over this week. On Tuesday the varsity team lost to Central Catholic, and on Thursday they fought back in the second set but ended up losing to Prairie Central. Girls Swim had a successful week with a meet at Macomb High School. In the meet, the girls won overall and got first and second in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Boys Soccer team lost their game Tuesday against Central Catholic. They also had their Regional game on Friday. In the game, the boys fought hard but came just short of winning with a 3-4 loss against Calvary Christian Academy. Football also had a tough week with each team losing their games. The JV team had a tough game in the rain, losing 36-14 against IVC.
The varsity football game on Friday night was the OHS Homecoming football game. The football team had the crowd on their side, with the stands filled with students and parents alike, but couldn’t seem to bring it all together. They ended up losing 28-0 against Prairie Central.
